Coffin Point

This point is adjacent to the Crown Point State Historic Site. In August of 1775, the 6th Pennsylvania Battalion, along with other American forces, constructed a fort on Coffin Point, only to destroy and abandon it in October. This retreat was a result of Benedict Arnold’s defeat in the battle of Plattsburgh. Related Sites Or Experiences
