Hartford Museum and Civil War Enlistment Center

Historic Places tell the story of life in Hartford, New York in the 1800’s. The Museum houses artifacts from daily life, including various trades, their tools and products, homes and schools plus domestic equipment. The house itself dates from circa 1815 and evolved to its present form around 1853.

The Enlistment Center, the last of its kind in New York tells the story of Company E of the 123rd Regiment NYSV during America’s Civil War. Displays include the soldier’s equipment, letters and photos. A map traces their 3,000 mile journey from 1862 to the end of the war. Season and Hours Open

Historic cementery across the street contains graves of early settlers, revolutionary War and Civil War soldiers. Also contains unique Civil War monument
