Adirondack Ambiance : Fine Art and Great Camp Furniture
Housed in the historic 1801 Griffing Homestead, this unique gallery features the work of a rare husband-and-wife team of artists. Al and Anne both have deep roots in the Adirondack region, with Anne’s family ties dating back to the 1700’s. Anne works mostly in acrylic on canvas, though some paintings on other substrates. Al frames all of the finished work in his classic Adirondack style, using native and weathered woods. Every single piece is uniquely designed and created. Al also crafts Adirondack style furniture, from simple end tables to great camp staircases. The wood used in Al’s work is harvested directly from the couple’s Adirondack property, and Anne’s beautiful landscapes are derived from, and inspired by, the regional aesthetic. Painting and frames are specifically tailored to each other in order to create a unified whole. Both Anne and Al accept commissions for custom work, as well. Come see this local gem set in the natural beauty of the foothills of the Adirondacks! Season And Hours Open
Adirondack Ambiance is open every day but Sunday from 10AM-5PM during the summer season (Memorial Day to Labor Day), or by appointment.
What Is Distinctive And Authentic To The Character Of The Region
The name ‘Adirondack Ambiance’ says it all. Al and Anne are purveyors of fine art and furnishings, using the local and regional landscape for both inspiration and as a source for materials. Often, all of the wood in Al’s custom furniture has been harvested mere minutes from the gallery, while Anne’s paintings display the regional landscape in all of its natural and cultural wealth.

Comments
Adirondack Ambiance is a very special place. Anne paints the local landscape as she see it, and Al crafts beautiful frames from locally gathered materials. Ann and Al love their corner of the Adirondacks, and willing share it with all who enter their door. This place is worth a trip from anywhere. You will be moved by the experience!
