The Golden Sands Resort main residence was built in the 1800’s, and is situated on a unique and rare natural sand deposit offering level grounds and swimming area. Golden Sands Resort in the hamlet of Diamond Point within the Town of Lake George historically offered grand hotels and Herkimer quartz crystals giving Diamond Point its name. Crystals have been found on the motel property, and are displayed along with Native American “points” and pieces of flint found years ago, as several hundred feet away from the motel was a Native American summer camp area where to date flint chipping and arrow heads may be found.Golden Sands Resort is locally owned and operated, and offers extensive guide and knowledge to its guests and passers by.
