Baum Site 20: The White Creek Encampment
Listen to the Road to the Battle of Bennington Site 20 Audio Narration:
The greater portion of Baum’s forces rested just south skirmish site the evening of the 13th. The Germans and Canadians were on the west side, and the Indians on the east side, of the present road.
A report arrived that Colonel St. Leger has won a victory over the Americans; I had written about that on June 1. Without a doubt, this is only being spread to inspire our men with courage, for who would want to bring us this news here in the wilderness?
