Bulwagga Bay
Bulwagga Bay offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, as its marshy shallows are teeming with fish and waterfowl. Waterfowl and other birds are common in this area, along with a diverse aquatic plant population. This is also a popular fishing (and winter ice-fishing) destination.
This bay is rumored to be a home of “Champ,” the Lake Champlain “monster,” because of the many sightings over the decades.
Insider Tip from Paddlers Cathy Frank and Margaret Holden: “Paddle deep into Bulwagga Bay to experience good wildlife viewing. Enjoy rolling the name of the bay across your mouth.” Don’t Miss This When Visiting
Don’t miss the 450-million-year-old fossils on the eastern shore of Bulwagga Bay, spread across the flat rocks near the water’s edge.
