Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center
Outdoor recreation and education can be found at Up Yonda Farm in Bolton Landing. Located on 75 acres, this environmental education center is operated by Warren County Parks, Recreation and Railroad. A popular visitor attraction for schools and the public, Up Yonda presents a variety of nature programs throughout the year. This facility features an auditorium, museum, sugarhouse, and a butterfly garden during the summer months. A series of hiking and snowshoeing trails provide access to a scenic vista of Lake George. The main entrance to the facility is located at 5239 Lake Shore Drive (Rt. 9N) in Bolton Landing, NY. Visitors can readily access our wildlife exhibits and trail network from this point. Maps and program schedules are always available on our parking area bulletin board, the information booth in summer, and year round in the office in the white farmhouse. Wildlife Species Often Seen
A variety of wildlife can be seen at Up Yonda Farm. Mammal species include; white-tailed deer, red fox, raccoon, woodchuck, porcupine, fisher, ermine, little brown bat, big brown bat, grey squirrel, red squirrel, snowshoe hare and eastern cottontail rabbit. Avian species include; eastern bluebird, black-capped chicadee, dark-eyed junco, red-breasted nuthatch, white-breasted nuthatch, common flicker, eastern kingbird, downy woodpecker, hairy woodpecker, pileated woodpecker, mourning dove, mallard duck, hooded merganser, great blue heron, wild turkey, red-tailed hawk, and various warblers in summer.

Best Seasons And Times For Viewing
A variety of species can be seen throughout the year. Eastern Bluebirds are commonly seen from April to September. Ruby-throated hummingbirds are numerous during the summer. There are several bird feeding stations on the property. Various habitats make for a good mix of mammal and bird species on the property.

Be sure to check out our natural history museum with a variety of exhibits of interest to children and adults. The butterfly garden is a featured attraction during the summer months. This enclosed garden has a variety of native species that can be viewed at close range. The scenic vista of Lake George includes the tip of Tongue Mountain, various islands in the Narrows, and many mountains on the eastern shore.

Up Yonda Farm is operated by Warren County Parks, Recreation and Railroad. The property was donated to Warren County in 1994 and Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center opened to the public in 1997.
Additional Notes
Up Yonda Farm is a nature-oriented day use area that is popular with vacationers during July and August. Recreational and educational opportunities are available to people of all ages and physical abilities. The property is also an excellent location for viewing fall foliage. We’re open all year.
