Willsboro Heritage Center & Museum
The museum is housed in the former Champlain National Bank Building and contains the portrait of William Gilliland, the founder of Willsboro. On permanent display are horse drawn wagons, buggies and sleighs. The summer exhibit for 2012 will be Early Industry in Willsboro concentrating on the local Quarry Industry. On display is a Diorama of the Clark Family Bluestone Quarry on Ligonnier Point. The bluestone from this local quarry was used in the Brooklyn Bridge, the Albany State Capital Building and Lighthouses on Lake Champlain. The diorama, built by Bill Kissam and unveiled last summer gives the visitor a glimpse of life in a Quarry community in the late 1800’s. A featured tour this summer will be of the Clark Quarry. Season and Hours Open

Identify And Describe The Management Organization
We are a volunteer, not for profit 501(c)3 member organization. Our mission is to preserve and promote the multifaceted history of Willsboro by serving as an education and resource center.
In addition to access to our Center and Museums we offer our members and the visiting public year-round programs on a wide variety of topics, as well as guided tours of sites of historic interest.
Our professionally catalogued and archived collection and our library offer many research opportunities. We publish scholarly papers, as well as excerpts of historical documents, and annually we prepare a thematic calendar whose pictures reflect our past.
