Lock C-3

Lock C-3 on the Champlain Canal is located in the town of Mechanicville, just north of the heart of the city and terminal wall. It is 2.5 miles north of Lock C-2. This lock lifts and lowers boats 19.5 feet (from 48 to 67.5 feet above sea level). The Lockmaster can be reached by VHF Radio channel 13 or by phone at (518) 664-5171. Services Offered
For access to stores and the like, use the Mechanicville Terminal Wall, for seclusion, use Lock C4.

May 1 – May 25 – 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

May 26 – Sept. 7 – 7:00 am – 10:00 pm

Sept. 8 – Nov. 15 – 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

TOLLS, PASSES & PERMITS

All motorized recreational vessels passing through any lock or lift bridge on the Canal System must purchase either a Seasonal Pass, a Ten-Day Pass or a Two-Day Pass.
