Lock C-4

Lock C-4 is located just north of the town of Mechanicville and Lock C-3 (1.83 miles), where the canal diverges from the Hudson River for a short while creating an artificial island. This lock lifts boats up 16 feet from the river (elevation: 67.5 feet) into an artificial channel (elevation: 83.5 feet). The Lockmaster can be reached by VHF Radio channel 13 or by phone at (518) 664-5261. Services Offered
Lock 4 Canal Park. Tie up on the northeast, upper terminal wall. Short walk to Village of Stillwater, Stewarts, gas, restaurants. Picnicking, Fishing

TOLLS, PASSES & PERMITS

All motorized recreational vessels passing through any lock or lift bridge on the Canal System must purchase either a Seasonal Pass, a Ten-Day Pass or a Two-Day Pass.
