Riverview Orchards, Farm, Country Store, and Bakery

As an Erie Canal farm, Riverview Orchards has been in agriculture for over 100 years. Settled by the Dutch in the early 1800’s, the area along the Mohawk River became dotted with small farms over the last century, some of which are still active today. Along with growing apples at Riverview Orchards, the 2000 square foot store carries locally-produced fruits and vegetables, eggs, honey, maple, handmade crafts, and gourmet foods. The bakery creates mouthwatering apple cider donuts, homemade pies, cookies, cakes, strudels, and crisps. In autumn, there is pick-your-own in the orchard with free hayrides, animals to visit, a hay castle for young children, donut robot observation area, bees behind glass, a large freshwater aquarium, and farm-related demonstrations. Throughout the entire year the farm entertains and educates school children, holds birthday parties and special events, and participates in local fundraising activities. The farm exemplifies the heritage of generations past while carrying on the local farming tradition into the future. Season And Hours Open
Riverview Orchards is open year-round, seven days a week. Closed on major holidays or during inclement weather in winter. Hours are 9 to 6; 9 to 5 during Daylight Savings.

What Is Distinctive And Authentic To The Character Of The Region
Native Americans roamed Saratoga County and the Town of Clifton Park thousands of years ago leaving slim traces of their existence that can still be seen today. During the early 1800’s, New Netherlands, as New York was then called, was settled by the Dutch. The well-known Erie Canal that was destined to make New York State into an empire, was constructed along the banks of the Mohawk River. Industry from the canal thrived in the small towns that grew up around Dutch churches. Today the Town of Clifton Park is a prosperous suburbia intertwined with remaining picturesque farms and open space. Greek Revival homes still dot the landscape in small hamlets such as Vischer Ferry just down the road from Riverview Orchards. Rolling hills and quaint villages still exist and are reminiscent of generations gone by.
