Saratoga Farmer’s Market

The Saratoga Farmers’ Market Association runs local “producer-only” markets. This standard requires that vendors to grow or produce their goods in Saratoga, Schenectady, Rensselaer, or Washington counties and ensures that products are fresh and unique, not purchased for resale. In this way, sales provide economic, ecological, and social support to local communities.

Our shoppers choose from dozens of types of vegetables, fresh fruit, honey, baked goods, pasture-raised meat and poultry, cheese, fish and seafood, jams, wine, yogurt and milk, flowers and herbs, complemented by crafters and on-site prepared food. Newer vendors selling items such as pickles, crackers, vegan dips, and hard cider are quickly gathering a following. Many of our products are Certified Naturally Grown or USDA Organic. All our vendors eat and use their products in their own homes and take great pride in their quality.

Unlike your average trip to the grocery store, coming to the market is a social event as well as a place of business. We love to see our customers shop to supply their needs while calling out to friends and neighbors. With extra activities like musicians and chef demonstrations, and community-based groups that offer special events and information tables, our markets have become a regular social activity for locals and a must-visit stop for tourists.
