Long Point

Also called Point au Clair for Joseph au Clair, a refugee who lived here in the 1700s. On this point is an old graveyard called the Wiley’s Burying ground, where the original settler, James Rouse, is buried. The small point just north of here was named after James Wiley, who cleared the land in 1819.
