Wildlife Area at Mohawk Landing

Mohawk Landing, a beautiful six-acre riverfront park, opened in 2009 near Riverview Orchards on Riverview Road in Rexford (Clifton Park), NY. The park includes a gravel and wooden boardwalk trail that runs across the property to the top of the riverbank. The scenic overlook includes several picnic tables.

Though there is is a small boat access point to the Mohawk River, there are both natural and stone dust trails through the beautiful wooded area. Visitors can enjoy both a boardwalk trail or a meadow loop.

This is the perfect spot for a picnic, casual walk along trails or to sit and enjoy the view of the Mohawk River. Primary Access Points And Trail Heads
There is a small parking lot at the one entrance located at 640 Riverview Road, Clifton Park, NY. There is a bike rack on site.

Wildlife Species Often Seen
Red maple, dogwood, clover, cattail, riverbank grape, chicory, orange hawkweed. lady’s thumb, sweetbrier, milkweed, st. johnswort, and much much more.

Year-Round. Wildflowers bloom from March through September.

Identify And Describe The Management Organization
The Town of Clifton Park owns and manages Mohawk Landing. Access to the river is through an agreement with the New York State Canal Corporation.

Additional Notes
The nature preserves shall be open for general public use from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset. These hours may be varied by the Town Supervisor for special events.
