Lock C-8

Lock C-8 is located in the outskirts of the town of Fort Edward, two miles from Lock C-7. The first of three scenic locks (Locks C-8-C-11) for northbound boaters, the lower side of this lock makes a good place to stop and have lunch. On the upper side of the lock, be sure to take a look at the cows and the picturesque background to the south of the canal. The lock raises and lowers boats 11 feet, from 129 feet to 140 feet above sea level Services Offered
Hudson Falls, a short distance west of Lock C-8, offers a full array of amenities to the cruiser. The Feeder Canal Park, off of Burgoyne Avenue, contains an interesting group of historic locks.

TOLLS, PASSES & PERMITS

All motorized recreational vessels passing through any lock or lift bridge on the Canal System must purchase either a Seasonal Pass, a Ten-Day Pass or a Two-Day Pass.
