Bring your beach towel, a picnic lunch and plenty of sunscreen! Shepard Park Beach is conveniently located in the heart of Lake George Village. Sit on the lawn in a classic Adirondack chair and read in the shade – or stake out your perfect location on the sandy beach for hours of sunning and swimming fun! On many nights of the week you’ll find free concerts and entertainment in the amphitheater overlooking the lake. Public restrooms and lifeguards on duty. Oh, and a playground for the little ones.

Did you bring along a rod and reel? What’s a visit to Lake George Area without fishing one of the country’s most scenic lakes? While much of the lake is not available to the public in the thick of the summer months, you can find the public dock here on the southwest shore a good opportunity to drop a line. A variety of trout, bass, pike, and perch are up for grabs. Fish on!
